About Taking the Lead
Taking The Lead is a growing global community of Refugee Leaders
and Refugee-Led Organisations (RLOs). Our 277 network members
are innovators and changemakers, rooted in refugee communities
and actively championing refugee rights, self-reliance, and inclusion.
Our unique approach focuses on participant-led processes, offers
accessible opportunities for skills development, and leverages
insights from community-sourced data to identify and respond to
immediate and upcoming needs. United, we address the barriers and challenges we face in order to advocate and strive for the betterment of our displaced communities.
The network’s strength comes from collective efforts. By aligning around advocacy initiatives, we increase our outreach and effectiveness. The network is a global conduit for capacity-building and peer-to-peer learning, specifically highlighting the vital role that Refugee Led Organisations play in the humanitarian field. We’re distinct in our commitment to member-driven initiatives, participatory workshops, and maximised participation.
